Can you install Linux bare metal on your laptop at G? Or does it *have* to be Win/Mac?
You can get a Thinkpad with gLinux.
Not sure what gLinux is like since (I assume) it’s closed source, but if it’s basically like Debian that’s legit. I am stuck on Windoze so that IT can do the needful and install Norton antivirus or whatever. Then I use a crappy VDI to get on a Linux host and do my actual work. 🙄
Pixelbook
Actually I have a pixelbook and a windows desktop
Most devs use macbook pro and a linux desktop.
Is Pixelbook good? It does not look as sleek as a Dell XPS or MBP. The bezel around the screen makes it look unappealing imo (even in the higher end $1300+) versions. Just curious how is it overall
What do supply chain teams @ google use?
Most use mac or Pixel. I use Windows. Choose whatever you prefer personally as everything you need runs on cloud and you won’t need to install a single appliance on your machine (other than Google chrome)
Which windows machine you use?
Does this only apply for server dev? I'd imagine Android and iOS devs still need beefy machines
