Always hq location. Better and high visibility projects. If you work hard, you might get better projects in MTV and get promoted sooner. Satellite offices are not the same, I worked at Amazon before. The projects in Seattle were high visibility and people got promoted faster. We had teams in Vancouver and Minneapolis. In 2.5 years I worked there Seattle had 3 Sde3 promos, 12 sde2 promos. Vancouver had 2 sde 2 promos and Minneapolis none. This specially applies to higher levels I guess, going from sde1 to 2 or t3 to t4 it doesn't matter much. You can save more by earning more and HQ locations have better opportunities.

I agree with this, but OP is specifically looking at a time frame of 2 years. In such a short time period, this isn’t going to matter.

SF. More opportunities for $$.
