Everyone loves food. Google has lots of restaurant reviews with food pics. Why can't they make a food equivalent of Instagram with reviews/ratings? People can discover all interesting food places in a region and they can comment on review posts accepting or denying them which can lead to user engagement/discussion about food. Right now, the food reviews on restaurant listings are not easily visible. When we tour a new place, we can easily find out the top foods in that region and eat there. It will be viral as well as a product that caters at scale like other Google products. Restaurants in tourist places can show adds and gain business.
Can someone nominate this guy to be next CEO of google?
I can easily see this becoming a hit if executed well.
Google can't make good products anymore after Sundar took over. Just coasting leeching off from Google search
Yelp is meh. It lists restaurants. Need something like the smooth interface of Instagram showing popular user reviews and location search and discovery.
It's called Google Maps
Doesn't have the food focus yet. No personalization too
You literally open the explore tab, latest in the area has a bunch of personalized restaurant recommendations based on locals activities. You can follow local guides also get 'your match' ratings on each place as you rate places you visit
Google Maps literally has that feature. Click “explore” at the bottom.
Maybe it’s just that there’s too much going on in maps that could’ve easily been a different google app. You could always cross link to google maps..
Food.google.com does exist for what it's worth. Please use it.
