Google on-site interview: accidentally got 4 algorithm + 1 behavior. Recruiter scheduling an additional system design
I just finished my virtual on site with Google today and I got 4 algorithm interviews with a behavioral even though I was supposed to get a system design one since it's an L5 position. The recruiter called me later in the afternoon and apologized for the mistake. That I need a system design one. Is this good news for me? The recruiter saw my feedback results for the other interviews and I did fine in the other rights right? If I bombed the others would the recruiter still bother to schedule my system design? I don't know how it works in Google, but it might be presumptuous to assume the recruiter has the results from your other interviews the same day you took them. Even in Amazon, it's not like most people enter it in right after the loop.
Yeah maybe celebrating too soon here. Would the recruiter know I didn't get a system design interview if the results aren't back yet though ๐
You were interviewed for L4 most likely, but yeah you probably did fine so they're scheduling a SysDe round for L5

That's very strange. My recruiter told me the exact same thing, hope they don't mess it up for me. I gave them my availability, they're scheduling it
You are celebrating too early. Feedback comes in super slow and recruiters usually need to chase feedback for the 1-2 weeks to come. They are just scheduling it because you need it.
Probably right. Hoping for someone from Google who might know. Would the recruiter know the type of interview if there isn't feedback yet
Yes the recruiter knows the interview types before feedback. Yes it takes a while for feedback to come in usually. Good luck on the additional interview!
Are you interviewing for L5? AFAIK no systems designs for L3&4
