It’s the biggest secret amongst hiring companies. Here are the bullet points. Google resumes go to bottom of pile because: - ex-googlers struggle without all the tools at google. “At google we had this tool that…” - Are often shocked there isn’t someone else to hand off work to. “who owns writing the design doc?” - Shocked at how code is developed in smaller agile teams “hey who wrote all these dependencies” - Are unfamiliar with deadline driven milestones “deadlines?” - Have bigger interest in refactoring than new development. “hey what we should really do is start over…” - “Usually my TPM handles that” - “Oh I don’t really know how it all worked I was focused on a small component” Unfortunately true. This is why we blind. TC $670k

Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
Do you justify your TC ? New company ? Or just to prove your point
It’s fake TC
Pinterest I’d ask you how it’s going there. But since I know all your tech leaders I don’t need too. Jeremy is a lot of fun isnt he?
Google is full of smart people who slack off. Apple has smart people who work hard. Amazon has mediocre people who work hard. Microsoft has mediocre people who slack off.
Lol this seems accurate
Please don’t leave Metamates behind. 🥲
I don't know how true this is. But Amazon is the complete opposite. This place may suck, but I think it prepares you for whatever company you may end up in future.
True that. Most places you are just writing code. Someone else does the infra and DB management and security. At Amazon you do it all. DevOps, engineering, security, design, and thensome. Sadly, none of this matters. On your resume you were JUST an engineer like anywhere else.
That's the way it is at most small and medium companies. Don't be under the assumption that only folks at amzn have to work on full stack.
Can definitely relate to these points. What your yoe? Impressive tc
Op has 100 yoe
Yeah ok and you think recruiters who do the initial screening care about anything else other than company names and understand technical jargon?
U sound salty
Just trying to help others 🫡
Help laid off Googlers doom and gloom even more lmao? How are you helping
If salty was a person
Salt bae
lol.. All google tooling is built using open source code and then customized for google needs and Kubernetes is open sourced by google 😊
I think you should go work outside of google then you’ll get it
I’ve worked outside in startups for a decade and working at google for half a decade now! May be only true for a fraction of people who has always worked at google only and didn’t try open source tooling (learning anything is easy, just need mindset and adaptability), even those folks are super smart and they can pick these stuff within a few weeks. Anyway, I’m not here to prove anything.
Not sure of the resume stacking but I can relate to most of these points l. Even it also applies to a lot of other big techs, it is most relatable to ex-googlers
When were you rejected?
