Folks that onboarded remotely at Google, how has been your experience? Any tips you can share to make the experience better? Starting next month, and HR said they will ship laptop to home. But beyond that, I am not sure much is defined... or I haven't heard it yet. If you can share your experience, that will be great. TC 500K, 16yoe, L6 PM #offer

How common is it for devs to order the 15” MacBook Pro + Linux desktop? I’d prefer a laptop with a larger screen but the order form seems to push people to go for the ChromeBook. I’m imagining it’s hard to change equipment with the remote onboarding.
I chose 13" MacBook air + Linux desktop for portability (have 2 27"monitors and docking station at home). Got an email saying they will mostly ship Mac or Chromebook at this time (no windows laptops). All my friends at google told me don't take a Chromebook
Are they shipping the desktops to our place as well? I almost want to defer onboarding if we can onboard in person. It’s not super clear to me when this whole shelter in place will end.

Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
I got onboarded this week but as an swe. I actually hate generic orientation so its nice as you can just play it at 2x at home. Working from home as an swe is more or less the same just ramping up with initial codebase will be a bit longer. I am assuming as a PM things are different as you have to interact with a lot of folks.
