I had Google onsite 2 days before. Had 5 coding rounds and in all rounds I was able to come up with expected solution and coded it. But now I realize I made a algorithm mistake in one of them and in one of them couldnt test my program due to time shortage. Do I have any chance of making it to HC?😥
Hold tight few of days, Op! Good luck!
Yes
It is not about what you think, it is what your interviewers think
Is this possible that interviewer notices mistake and don't tell them at all. I my case in 3 interviews after I completed the code, interviewers didn't say anything about the code.
That's possible. At the end of day they are human as well. They are emotional and can forget things as well.
OP, can you please breakdown rounds by type of questions (like dp, dfs, design,...) and their level based on Leetcode. m bit in panic mode as I have upcoming on-site at Google this week.
For L4 1 system design, rest were algo or data structs. One had a math component that I lucked out on (just happen to review that particular concept the night before). Almost all rounds had a testing component (except system design). Overall impression of the interview process: Felt like it was medium/easy. No specific feedback on how I did, why I made it to HC or why I made it past HC. Total secrecy. Ended up getting an offer 1.5 weeks after on-sites. TC 270K
@weakPtr what do you mean when you say “testing component”? Can you give an example?
Don't stress out too much, I think you'll make it to HC no problem. I was super freaked out about getting past HC myself. I still have no idea what the pass rate for applicants getting to HC is. I've heard a lot of 10-20% figures being thrown around but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Shouldn't the vast vast majority of fail applicants be filtered out by the time you get to HC? Having a low pass rate at HC means that you are wasting a lot of time. In fact, you'd think that once you hit on-site the pass rate would shoot up to something like 30-40% - otherwise it'd be a tremendous waste of everyone's time and money.
OP - did you get the offer?
??^^
Well...
@katrina did you get the offer?
Yes but no guarantees to pass HC and VP.
