I am still waiting for my feedback from recruiter. Do you guys think I have a chance of passing HC for L3 Application Engineer. Here's how it went for me- 1. Coding round- stuck with the recursion logic but was able to code with enough hints. Interviewer had followup question, but didn't ask as I ran out of time. 2. Integration- had to connect two system and my initial thought was convincing for the interviewer. When I asked him how he would integrate he said exactly what I explained. 3. System Design- asked me to draw mockups and design schema. I had spring boot experience so he asked how you would architect this with spring boot. I drew high level design due to time constraint. 4. Coding- came up with brute force approach. Interviewer gave me hints but I was not able to think about optimal solution. Asked me to code brute force and I wrote the code down. I wanted to give another thought on optimizing it. I was able to optimize it when I had brute force approach in front of me. Interviewer pointed out that it will fail for one edge case. Ran couple of test cases and figured out the bug and corrected the code. 5. Behavioural- can't say as there are no right or wrong answers. 4 yoe Current TC- 95K
Is it true that hiring bar for application engineer is lower than general swe?
Sounds like you probably didn't pass the bar in the coding rounds. This by itself will likely result in a rejection. Sorry.

Sorry, you probably will get rejected. I passed with 4 almost perfect rounds and 1 that was OK. I think that's close to the bar for passing and it seems that your results are a little too far off that.
Hm is this the case for other Googlers too?
My friend had a similar result to me and passed as well. I know of another one of my friends who did well in 2 rounds, decent in 3 and got rejected.
