In case one chooses to opt out of relocating stuff via the 3rd party vendor, does google payout a lumpsum amount towards relocation to candidate?
.
Yes you can cash out but you'll pay tax on it (40%)... some of it you'll get back in returns but still if you have a lot of stuff to move, it's better to do points as that is without Tax penalty and headache
Yea I understand. Its just I am by myself and do not have much valuable stuff to be honest, that is worth the cost. Might as well buy it new.
Take money then... it will be a better deal
Just to add my 2 cents... I've done lumpsum in the past at different companies. In my experience, I've had an easier time just having them take care of it as long as I can use the entire amount through the vendor. The lumpsum sounds nice but when you're transitioning jobs it's less of a headache when you have the logistics planned for you.
I have 1b1b apartment worth of stuff for a single person. So that makes me think might as well trash/sell off things there and buy it new.
I have done lump sum payment. It’s worth it if you don’t have much to move and are single.
Thank you. May I DM you please?
Sure
You have options. They have a points based system for relocation services that span the gamut of moving to temp housing to flights, and you have an option to cash out the entirety of it.
If I cash out, what is the amount paid for it?
That depends on your level and all but cashing out comes at a hefty tax
