1. If you have joined remotely, how is your experience with remote onboarding? 2. Till when Google will do remote onboarding? 3. How does the relocation benefits work for remote onboarding? I was told that I had to choose relocation benefits before I join. #google #remote #onboarding
Laptop arrived about 4 days after my original scheduled start date. I think I ordered the laptop like a week before that. They shipped the laptop by FedEx overnight so it seems like they’ve fixed the delays in getting people equipment. Still haven’t gotten my WFH kit yet.
Thank you for the response. Are you in your home office state or have to relocate when all this is over?
I’m currently based in Seattle so no relo needed. (The team I matched with is local)
What is the remote onboarding orientation on day 1 ? Is it just entering info in the corporate HRIS and all? I understand credentials appointment needs 30 to 60 minutes How much more time do you need to set aside and plan for the remote orientation? Is there any kind of a group virtual meeting or is it mostly reading documents and watching videos ?
Relocation may be a lump sum payment -- Google no longer offers a full-service or points-based relocation (internationally) during the pandemic. The amount is dependent on your level and, according to Blind and my recruiter both, not negotiable. I don't much trust either, though. I haven't started yet, so no informed comment about the remote onboarding. Requesting email, laptop, etc., has been painless so far, though.
Thanks for the response. I got an email from plusrelo to schedule a call to go through the relocation benefits. The relocation consultant told me to create some draft plans to go over on the call. I’m not sure if she is gonna just say, scratch all your draft plans and take the lump sum. I too was told relocation package is standard per level and non-negotiable. Do you mind sharing your start date?
I start next week. I wonder if my relo package was cancelled because it is an international move.
