I recently applied to G, and got rejected at resume screen. I know Google has high bar so not really butt hurt about it. What made me curious is, I used to be able to get interviews there (went onsite twice) with much weaker resume. Is G raising the bar at resume screens, have limited headcount or something else?
TC, YOE? Maybe you're not "senior" enough, yoe-wise?
12, also the last time(several years ago) I went onsite was for senior level, so i doubt that's the case. Unless there is expectations of eng need to grow to staff+ as their YOE increases.
I don't think bar is getting higher, I would guess it's bad luck or not suitable for the role you applied for, or both.
I got resume rejected, but then another recruiter still reached out like 1 month later and got me a loop. Just did the onsite. Idk, not gonna question it 🤷♂️
Not enough head count at google these days
You had a chat with recruiter or got rejected before the chat?
I applied via weak referral, and got an email from a recruiter saying not moving forward with the position I applied, one of which is the generic senior engineer position. The email seems like a standard template, but there is a recruiter name attached to it so I'm assuming is not auto-rejected by algorithm.
Could be no headcount i believe, i applied via referral as well, got interview at one office and rejected at another
