Google lacks a social media presence, Snap lacks good user monetization. The synergy is there: - Google acquires Snap to build its social media presence - combine YouTube Shorts and Snapchat Discover to compete against TikTok - integrate Google account with Snap login to improve user acquisition funnel - leverage Google ad targeting and ad sales pipeline in Snap for massive user monetization - integrate Snapchat into Android to compete against iMessage - leverage Snap’s talented AR team for improved AR functionality in Android to compete against iOS - both companies can continue to ask leetcode hards What do you think?
So how much of those SNAP RSUs are you bagholding?
Google did explore buying snap already like 5 years ago. Evan didn’t go for it
Snap founders won’t sell it to anyone. How many companies you know where founders have e 95% voting rights? These two dudes can’t let the power slip. Investors money is not their priority.
This actually makes sense. Given all attempts to be social media/chat has failed miserably
You must not understand anti-competitive behavior and the current administration’s likely view of such an acquisition.
Who's even using snap these days , GenZ?
300+ million genZ and millennials everyday around the world
Still less than IG and Tiktok. Most snapchat users are younger folks who barely have money to spend , even advertisers prefer IG and Tiktok over snap. Google probably thought good riddance that their 2017 offer didn't work out. And if they're so interested in buying stuff, why not just do TikTok, who's clearly the leader 🤷♂️
The FTC/DOJ would never allow Google to buy Snap. Would be a more interesting hypo if you said Microsoft.
Snap CEO is egoistic and thinks he is a visionary genius 💩
So like the decision to spend billions on the Metaverse
Copium^
Wait didn’t Snap have billions in saudi cash?
We never talk about it but I think we are backed by a Saudi sovereign fund.
Yes. And I feel it is better than instagram
It doesn’t have reels the most performant product of all.
