How big are the balls of Google to lay off thousands and then do 70 BILLION in stock buyback?
Individuals applying for this position will not be eligible for immigration sponsorship. Saw this on Google's job post for new grad. Trump's anti- immigration policies is working.. gonna be even harder for new grad to stay in the US now. #workvisa #h1b Edit: some comments say this is selected posting - check for yourself from https://careers.google.com/students/. Total 10 job posted on student site, 4 are interns, 4 has message no immigration sponsorship, and 2 has no such message (but one of them listed preferred qualifications: Authorization to legally work in the United States) Message are selected, since I can only post 5 images max.
I guess this position has some tie with a sensitive government job and they cannot gain clearance for the role. See it is for PhD and also not for Masters grads. This is also the only position that says no sponsorship and all other positions doesn’t carry any tag.
Not true. Other SWE PhD grad positions also have the same text
Actually it's posted on 4 out of 6 new grad positions for 2021. Check it yourself at https://careers.google.com/students/
This post should be used to teach how overfitting works.

1 minute of search: https://careers.google.com/jobs/results/91750050071225030-data-scientist-phd-university-graduate-2021-start specifically for the same degree level
There are always jobs which does not come with immigration help. This is not new. It all depends on budget and team requirements.
Google is building a case against the new rules. These positions will likely go unfilled for the next 6 months proving (qualified) STEM shortage.
^ this In military, if your commanding officer asks you to do something stupid, you don’t tell it to his face. Instead you start and slowly let the difficulties manifest themselves so that they come to their senses.
Seems like it's only for internships?
Dude all tech companies do such posts to show that it's hard to fill these roles. I have seen this every year, nothing new. You might have seen this now and relating it to other H1-B news.
Seriously it's a bunch of noobs worrying themselves silly
Every companies do this, there are some positions that required clearance and immigrants or even green card will not be able to obtain clearance
May be these jobs are for immigration purposes. Advertisement phase for EB1 category.
Why is this a big deal that an American company saying that they only hire American for only some specific jobs in America? The entitlement of some foreigners in this thread is beyond tolerance!
I don't think its about entitlement. If a company decides to hire Americans only, it's perfectly fine. Only shows their confidence in believing there are enough eligible American workers. I guess the post is about just noticing something and making an inference of its impact on international students. Nothing to do with why it's right or wrong.
Huge win for American Tech Workers! 🇺🇸
