Google teach match phase- 3 rejects so far...
Hi Anyone experienced with Google Team Match process recently? I have been HC approved for L4 for a TPM role in Mid Nov. After approval, recruiter started teach match. So far 3 teams showed interest and I tried to sell myself, but each team match felt like a mini phone round interview and they rejected right after. I am not sure what was the point going thru a regressive interview rounds and getting HC approved, when I still have to keep proving my worth at each team match interviews too, only to be rejected...thrice.... Is this normal ? Google is taking advantage of it's position I feel....:(
2 teams in MV..and 1 in sunnyvale... all rejects...I. already HC approved as per my recruiter.
they’re not taking advantage of anything. they can’t force teams to take you.
What I want to know is what do these teams look for exactly? If there’s some set of knowledge you need that you don’t have then what topics do you need to study up on? It’s stupid to go through all those rounds just to not have a team.

they’re not going to quiz you on technical knowledge. they might do a behavioral interview lite where they ask you about your past projects, interests, strengths and weaknesses i had 4 team match calls and got 3 interested and 1 uninterested team. the only difference was that i didn’t click with the one manager as well. was a little tired and didn’t come across as passionate.
Have you asked your recruiter for anonymized feedback from the match calls? Maybe over the phone if they don’t want to send written documentation?
Just keep trying, there are many reasons for reject and one very common one is there are internal candidates.
