Considering an offer from Uber. Not sure if going to Uber is the best experience since Uber is a more volatile than Google and may not have as nice work culture or eng infrastructure. Can people who went from Google to Uber, share their experience? #uber #google #tech
Tc?
My friend went from amazon to Uber, I literally never heard from him again after layoffs. Not even sure he's alive

I did it. No regrets. The two motivating factors were better comp and easier to work on side projects without legal risk since Uber doesn't have its tentacles in every sector like Google. The unexpected benefit is Uber people are way less arrogant than googlers. (This drove me nuts at Google.) Otherwise the Google culture is preferable, but Uber is still pretty chill. Probably average WLB for the industry, so not as good as Google but better than FB, Amazon, etc.
Thanks for specifying your specific motivations.
