Recruiter mentioned this as not requiring approval, but some people on Blind never heard of this. Can someone from Google shed some light on this, whether this is really a thing at Google, does it require approval, is it frowned upon etc? Mostly thinking to use it in the first 3 years when I would have only 3 weeks of vacation which is pretty low.
Gotta maintain Amazon vacation standards. OP canât allow Google vacation to be a downgrade.

Under 30 days is treated the same as any other vacation request by the HR system, no approvals required. The formal policy is that manager approval is required.
