Do you think Google can ever compete with Amazon in eCommerce now that Google is investing heavily in online shopping features? TC - $330K
No. Whoever thinks eCommerce is about the online site totally ignores the operations behind it. Operations at Amazon is ruthless. I was there to see in person how they took down a vendor bringing hundreds of millions in revenue due to customer complaints. I cannot see another company having such a discipline to prioritize customers. Most will write that customers are a priority until needing to make a hard decision.
Not a chance that Google can compete with Amazon on eCommerce! Agree with PP that operations is really key to eCommerce business. Not to mention the lack of customer centric mindset at Google, there is no way to compete on delivery speed without the logistics infra, and I don't think Google has the appetite to invest in the infra part. And even if it does invest, it's too late to catch up with Amazon.
Jeff > Sundar. Look at the shape of their rockets. No question.
Google has nothing compared to Amazon in warehouses, supply chain, etc. They didn't even sell any physical products until their pixels.
Probably not, Google doesn’t take anything seriously nowadays. They give up on projects too soon, take Google Fiber for instance, it’s trash now. Even my grandma has 1G speed, and she doesn’t even game.
