Google : 165k base / 266k GSUs / 15% bonus Atlassian : 180k base/ 180k stocks / 15% bonus Team at google cloud is Cloud Capacity Planning and the one at Atlassian is Confluence YOE : 6 What would you do and why?
Google, because capacity planning sounds way cooler than confluence.
Google. No one has even come close to creating a better search algorithm nor does Atlassian have Google’s reach. The bennies at Google are insane. My friend can’t praise them highly enough - he left Microsoft after a decade and as a former Softie, I can tell you working at Microsoft was wonderful and the bennies were great. Google also has offices in many locations if you ever want to go elsewhere.
Thank you for the great insight.
Google. if I am not wrong, they acquired Velostrata recently (around August?) cloud migration and planning.
Pretty sure this is quite different than Velostata's business.
Google. Unless there's something about Atlassian that's really a draw for you. Perception wise, Google + Cloud + Capacity/Scale will open up more doors for you in your career, that's like bingo on any recruiter search.
Bingo from Google? Nice joke, but you're not from Microsoft...
What do you think bingo means? I'm talking about hitting keyword searches.
There are advantages to working at some smaller companies; more nimble, more opportunities for growth, more interesting work. Atlassian is not one of those companies.
Hey OP, mind sharing how you prepared for your interviews? Thanks
The standard way... 1. Did some leetcode first as a warmup. 2. Dedicated couple of days on each topic like Arrays, binary search, strings, linked list, trees and graphs. 3. Did a lot of questions around bfs and dfs on both trees and graphs. 4. Again started with leetcode practice. Focused on easy and medium only for start. At this stage, started interviews with other companies. 5. Then looked at past google code jam questions. Just a few. Interviewing with other companies will also help you negotiate for better with google.
Google it is then. Accepted the offer.
Congrats. How was your interview?
Damn. That's a quick turnaround time from start of thread to acceptance. Were you actually on the fence, or already decided but wanted to confirm what the crowd thinks?
Google. It's the big leagues
Should I even have any doubts about growth in Google?
