Google vs Bing
So, it didn't help much. Even Yahoo is next to Bing. What do you think? Why is Bing failing even after such a promotion with copilot?
Bing is not bad, but the data quality is just not there. Ranking is probably ok, but Google has local data, shopping data etc which are far superior. Also bing doesn't do as good a job at query understanding
Ai made everything worse because firstly they stopped investing in the basics and secondly it confuses ppl who will now realize oh shit this isn't Google
Google panicked for no reason and tried to demonstrate BARD early. 🤣
In my experience Bing is the best ai chatbot. I am starting to switch my search engine usage to chatbot. I’d say the largest barrier for me at this time is the fact that Bing is slow. If they can get it faster, i will replace more and more google searches with Bing chatbot.
Use ChatGPT directly
Yes sometimes i do that but chatGPTs 2021 cutoff date often nullifies its usefulness to me. Often when i use Bing bot i want information from now. So, i appreciate it is slower because it is processing a lot of newly searched information on the fly, which makes it more useful, but also slower. Plus, to cut down on the risk of hallucinations, i like the links Bing provides
And we are back with another google and Bing comparison. Why the fuck do we compare these two when there is no comparison?? Forget that Bing exists and move on!!
Its a ugly search engine with bad searches, why use it when it can't do anything right

Pretty soon search engines as we know them will be obsolete. I usually ask a chatbot first what an answer is
The issue with this is that their training data goes out of date pretty quickly, so they're only really useful for up-to-date info if they push things through search, and in that regard search still wins because they can charge for the API use.
Thing is most data I search doesn't need to be up to date for months
Bing UI sucks and is not buttery smooth and easy on the eyes. It’s not even subjective I see like 7 different font sizes on a results page. Bing GPT is slow and buggy. I don’t even mean the quality of the results. Overall it’s just janky. To me it’s like using a 10 year old android phone. Yeah it works and to the untrained eye it’s fast enough. But after having better user experience it just doesn’t feel like a premium experience.
Bing sucks because Chandler is not the cool one, if they name it Tribbiani, I may use it more often.

Bing chat is such trash. I asked to rephrase the same paragraph to both bing and ChatGPT. ChatGPT response was 100X better.
