So, I begin the interview process in Google with a "champion call". How I make the most out of it. Any recommendations about questions, etc? P. S. Champion call - informal conversation with Google SWE, which I can ask them anything on.
Why are you joining Google and what are you worried about? If youâre joining for a particular reason or worried about something, feel free to ask about it and confirm it. Nowâs the time to ask anything!
Stoner friends :)
Just treat it as a casual chat to learn more about the companyâs culture. Has no bearing on your interview result afaik.
Be aware that this SWE will be biased to convince you to join. Itâs not going to be 100% honest conversation. Itâs trivial for recruiters to see that you have stopped hiring process after call - so stats will be collected on âsuccessâ of a call. Use Blind and ask any questions you need. Use champion call to validate information from Blind. If this SWE will be trying to avoid answering - you got the idea.
Champion calls are so that you can ask anything regarding your next steps at Google. Interviews, work culture etc etc. The champion calls donât have any bearing on interview outcome (the interview packets donât include the champion call, nor is any feedback taken after the call). Iâd say fire away whatever questions you have. Take it with a little pinch of salt because some folks might paint a slightly rosier picture.
Looks like s*** to me. F*** google and their workers
