Hi all, This is my 1st RFE and 3rd h1b transfer. Recently upgraded to premium processing. I don't know the reason yet. This is for a SDE in lab126. I have a bachelors in EE and Masters in embedded systems (was joint degree offered by computer and electrical department). My previous titles have been firmware engineer and embedded sw/sys engineer. I don't know the reason for RFE yet. Anyone been in similar situation? I wonder if it's because of my previous titles?
How many days did it take to get your decision?
@comScore, First applied in January. It took about 12 days after upgrading to premium.

Could be something innocuous too. Like forgetting to file with the right address etc
I will keep you all posted, once I know the real reason.
I got similar RFE with Amazon, the reason was to describe relation btwn degree and job duties.. I did Masters in EE and my role is “Software Engineer”. I am working with Fragomen to respond
Ohh. Let me know how it goes! I wonder if it would have been better if they applied for an embedded software or firmware role as the title. When did you first send your application?
Not sure if Title would have helped. Jan 2019 and got my RFE on March 19
It is for maintenance of status.
How long will it take to respond to rfe? Did you join on receipt?
Did you get the approval finally? How did it go? What were the timelines?
Hi, I am also planning to do a transfer from silicon Validation to a Software Engineering(back end) field, but haven't done it yet. I do have Software courses in my Electrical Engineering degree(about 2) and few more in my Bachelors, but not sure if USCIS actually sees this. Did you get your RFE cleared? let us know your suggestions
Hey how did it go for you . Planning the same
Not just the titles. Did the job description change quite a bit as well?
There is a significant amount of overlap in job duties. Same RTOS, Linux, C, C++, schematic review, board bring up. It is a different industry. Wireless technologies/IOT will be new to me. Moving from a bio tech startup
Hopefully they are just seeking justification/explanation for industry change and skillset requirement change if any or lawyers who filed your case must have done a silly mistake. Good luck. 👍🏻
