I am looking for opinions on starting at Yelp as a PM. Also, how is the product culture at Yelp? ------------- Update ------------ I accepted the offer!
New grad? What did you even study to become a PM?
I majored in CS at school and prepared for product design and technical questions for the interview.
I had an APM offer there but decided not to take it. DM me if you have any questions
Can you share comp numbers? Are you APM at Redfin?
Nah I don't work at Redfin. Took a different APM gig. Yelp was 125k base, 100k stock over 4 years, and a 20k signing bonus.
It’s going to be rough as a new grad. Good luck.
Why do you say so?
Good product managers have experience from the field. I’ve worked with newly minted PMs and they were somewhere between clueless and overwhelmed. I’d say trust and rely on your engs a lot.
Do it. Interns, APMs, senior PMs are all treated the same. Best idea wins and lots of opportunity for personal growth.
