Are we still all about equality? I saw this year that a lot of men show up to Grace hopper conference and women had to compete/wait in line with those men to talk to the recruiters. As a men I completely support those guys. They allow non binary people to enter the conference then why not just represent as non-binary. Let’s be honest, there is no need for conference just for women because if it was opposite, just for men, then it would be sexist. Just because you are a women, doesn’t give you the right to talk to big firm recruiters. Guys work just as hard and they don’t get that chance. If we are talking about equality then make competition fair for everyone. Should guys represent as non binary to get a fair shot? Yes or no? #tech #equality #hiring
Would you like some cheese with that whine?
I prefer 🍺
good punch line
No need for a woman only conference.
But if non binary athletes are allowed to compete in sports why not in jobs?
There is "no need" for any conferences ever. But if companies decide that an all women job conference generates more revenue over the long term, why shouldn't they do it?
I am against identity politics. We can look up to anyone. They do not have to be from our group.
Women are privileged now
How about you post that sexist opinion openly on your LinkedIn profile. I’m sure you’ll be popular. :D
These people love posting their bigoted opinions anonymously because they know they are wrong lol
A non-binary programmer.. the irony
In this country if you treat men and women equally you are a sexist.
Poor men of tech need help too. Plus GHC is expensive
If they are equal to men they shouldn’t need the handicap of dedicated career fairs, exclusive scholarships, government mandates to hire them, etc
I honestly don’t care about this
If they had a career fair for military veterans but civilians who have never served in the military crashed it, would you be okay with that?
For veterans it makes sense because they have hard time finding jobs because they don’t have same education background. It doesn’t make sense when girls get better chances just because they are “girls”. Guys and girls go through same 4 year degree. Guys should get fair chance as well.
Okay.
