Peeps at Gruhub, how is the internal vibe about the acquisition? Read somewhere that layoffs are unlikely because Just Eat Takeaway and Grubhub operate in two different geographies. Will the acquisition give Grubhub muscle to gain its market share back? #tech #acquisition #grubhub
It's been about a year since the announcement so no surprises there. The acquisition has been good for the share price after what happened in 2019. Attrition has been an issue that I believe is irrespective of the merger, there's just better comp available at other companies.
Are you taking about better comp at other companies in Chicago?
I'm not very familiar with Chicago TC, maybe fintech makes more. Anecdotal evidence would say people are leaving Chicago more than they are staying.
We’re JET’s only United States presence, and afaik they operate more like a holdings company with multiple small brands under them? Not sure what’s to come though.
they want to get all brands to use the same platform worldwide but I don't see it happening with Just Eat because they are massive and its not an acquisition. Not sure about what's it gonna be with GrubHub.
I think most of the recent attritions at top can be attributed to them helping maintain the stability till the acquisition completed.
Reading this a year later and I can see nay sayers we’re right!
