I have an offer for base $135k rsu: $50k (over 4 years) as a data engineer 2, fully remote. Offer is $10k less than i currently make, and no further movement from HR or hiring manager on comp. I also have 3 years of experience. I applied for a senior role, and was told the team is willing to down level the role. I saw another person on here say the exact same thing, so wondering if this is s tactic for grubhub? Am i getting proper comp for data engineer with 3 yoe?
They might get sold, keep that in mind
If the company gets sold, what would that mean for OP? Trying to understand the angle hear
And what does that mean for new employees?
Base seems ok but RSU is really low
Definitely not a tactic, we’re hiring hard and if you’d made the cut you would have been offered senior. We offer downlevel positions when the interview doesn’t demonstrate that you’re at our bar for the position you applied for. (We don’t even care about the level people applying for, they’re rated against an internal rubric based on what existing engineers at that level can do.)
Could you share or pm me comp numbers?
Same
Given years of experience i think it is reasonable comp
Did you take it? I got put in same situation
Yeah i took it, kinda sucks NGL. The perks are nice, but the work is ramping up fast for me. My last job wasnt this stressful
Oh wow
Is this 50k RSU per year?
Sorry, 4 year vest
