Meh. HR and recruiting software companies laid off at the start of Covid. Lever laid off yesterday. Greenhouse only has 7 jobs up right now. Not a good sign. There’s no way to tell. Most of the tech companies laying off aren’t doing badly. It’s year end and they want to show a stronger balance sheet in Q1. The best insurance is to negotiate 6 months of severance and paid benefits in the event of a layoff happening in X amount of time from your start date and have that in your offer letter
Do you know of anyone successfully negotiated that kind of thing at IC level in tech companies?
Recruiting software is probably not the best comp - companies will slow down hiring but they still need to process payroll, which is Gusto’s core product.
You won't be getting an offer, hiring has been frozen. All the best!
Are you from their recruiting team? The recruiter hasn't shared any such information yet 😕
Not from the recruting team, Josh sent out a comm notifying of an immediate hiring freeze. Only offers before November 28 stand.
I'm currently interviewing, I didn't know they were in trouble? Recruiter for them said they were actually hiring new people?

Any specifics?
What about Symmetry?
Whats the current valuation of Gusto? Are they still giving offers at $10bn valuation?
Recruiter mentioned stock grant and $30.4, not sure about valuation, and think it was more towards 5b
If it’s at $5bn then still you can think of joining. I rejected it because they were giving me RSUs at the $10bn valuation.
