The article does not say for all H-1B. It specifically calls out the consulting agencies. TCS, Wipro, Infosys and HCL Tech. The denials could be due to frequent Visa abuse and underpayment by these companies. https://www.epi.org/blog/new-data-infosys-tata-abuse-h-1b-program/
While we almost all agree this is good for fighting systematic abuse from those consulting companies, I am curious to see what will be the reaction of American companies. Will they outsource abroad or absorb the higher labor costs here?
Title is misleading. H-1B denials for Indian consultancies are at all time high.
And 57% is still very low. It should be 100% for consultancies.
