H1B - Vanguard
Vanguard asks if we are a Resident or Non Resident with regards to the citizenship in US. H1B falls under NR for citizenship but Resident for Tax purposes right? How does one open a Vanguard account then?

The residency rules for immigration and tax are completely independent, suggest you look up the Alien Tax Guide from the IRS to work out if you’re a resident, the calculation can be non trivial

Yes, I read through the Substantial Presence Test and I qualify for being a Resident. Can I open a Vanguard investment account?

So for tax purposes if I'm resident, can I open up a Vanguard account for investment?
Yes. I opened mine when I was on H1B. They want to know if you’re a resident for tax purposes.
