Not every high skilled workers have high salary
This is completely BS chart. If you have a chart based on years of experience, let’s see it. H1Bs tend to be in early careers, while people who have gone on to get their GCs will have 10/15/20 years of experience. Obviously their salaries will be much higher.
this + H1b applications come with an LCA which sets minimum pay for that location and job. And LCA reported pay is just base pay excluding stock, bonus
Wait. Doesn’t H1B has minimum salary requirement? I think it was $89K couple of years back for software developers.
It depends on location … ex: sf it’s way more than 150k for entry level
Company has to prove they are not underpaying visa holders. They need to look at market avg. salary for a given role, experience and ensure they pay the same or more to a visa holder. Without this, LCA might not get approved.
You know that site online includes base salary right?
I think it’s fake. You know any h1b holders with <100k?
I know a lot of them in L/MCOL areas.
Heaps of them in middle American companies doing jobs that absolutely could be done by Americans.
Yes, most people I know go to an obscure site and read a shitty looking table to decide whom to love or hate.
The fact that corporations support the h1b should be enough for the average man to not support it, other data not required.
My company pays same regardless of visa status. It’s possible h1b suppresses overall salary rage, but they certainly do not get paid less.

Visa slaves have less bargaining power which corporations love.
Lahore: It's also cultural. Desi and Chinese are not good negotiators in a foreign land, general.
