I am moving to US in L1B visa, valid for 3 years. I'll get it extended to total 5 years (say). Assume Microsoft applies for H1B every year, what are my chances of NOT getting H1B visa after 4 to 5 continuous attempts? I do not have a Masters degree from US. I have only Bachelor degree from India. YOE 10 L62, SDE2
Chances of getting through the lottery is high but chances of RFE without a US degree is also probably high.
Probability of not getting after 5 attempts (approx) = .65^5 = 11.6% thanks Cisco for correcting.
(0.65)^5 !== 0.35
You do realize that these days more than 120k US MS grads compete in the 85K lottery right? Your Bachelors degree is gonna be a huge pain in the ass to go through in the lottery
The chances in the H1b lottery are less than 30%. Applying for 10 years still does not guarantee a win. By the way, do the recent changes of prioritizing US grads severely decrease the chances of a foreign-ed BS for H1b?
so did you get h1b??
