I went to Delhi consulate for H1B visa stamping & got yellow slip and my visa is under administrative processing now. Consulate returned my passport without stamp. Has anyone been in similar situation? How long does it take to get visa? What is the timeline? Can anyone share their experiences?
FFne08 admin processing is very common nowadays though timelines for its resolution are random. Only option is to wait. I know folks waiting for 6+ months stuck in admin processing.
I know someone whose passport was returned without stamp because somehow embassy could not verify finger prints. The person had to go to embassy again for finger prints. The Visa was issued and passport returned in 2 days after that.
Were there any possible reasons why you'd be denied?
Don’t worry, if your application is clean( no Criminal or vendor work) it’s just a matter of time. It’s an annoying situation to be in, but it all get okay. Speaking out of experience- same thing happened to a friend of mine this dec.
Op, are you moving fromOPT to H1? New H1-B? Extension?
It’s extension
Hi. I had similar exp 2 yrs back. They gave a white slip and gave my passport back. After a long wait of 4 weeks. They asked me to send the passport. And gave me visa in a week. Good luck.
i got 221g few years back and got email abt in 4 weeks to submit passport to visa processing center.
Thank you for sharing
Did u have similar experience. Coz no where on my status it says the visa is rejected
This is not true. They return your passport in case you want to travel. Just sit tight and wait for the administrative processing to finish
