I only have 1 chance left in 2022 but I really don’t have high hopes for it. My company doesn’t have office outside of the US so I don’t think they can transfer me to another country. My company is applying for my GC (I’m from ROW) but the process is very slow (just started the recruitment period for PERM). I’m worried that I might not have enough time left. What are the options that I have if my H1B isn’t selected again next year? Should I do Day 1 CPT, or enroll in a legit master/PhD program (I already had a master degree), or switch to a company that has office outside of the US? Or any other suggestions? Anyone was/is in the same boat? What’s your plan? I’m very worried and sad hearing the news. Any insights is highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!! #Visa #H1B #workvisa
IMO move on with life without visa
Lol, wonder if that's what you'd say if you were the one going through this BS
Greencard on f1?
Greencard is unrelated to your visa type
Be hopeful for the next year as the wage level rule will kick in which will boost the chances
I don’t want to just wait for next year. It’s too risky. Any other suggestions?
Mine was picked in the last attempt. So chill
It’s too early to even think about it. You can apply to express entry canaday
R u kidding me With economic outcome for pandemic visa issues costs companies $$$ They will tail u to end and left wo option
I don’t really get your point. Can you please elaborate?
How much does it cost for visa processing for an employee? With lawyers cost it’s a pretty penny. Regardless of their accounting future you future isn’t certain with them. Move on
Apply for Canadian PR(takes about a year)- there’s your backup and push hard to get your GC processed. One year is enough time
Nope 👎 it’s more than that
GC in an year ? OP's reaction: Am I a joke to you?
Join a part time school and get work permit from them. Few of my team members did it.
You mean Day 1 CPT?
I don’t know much details but could be something like it.
Switch to bigger company with global presence.
1. FSW Express entry Canada. Just get in the pool. Very low chance of getting an invitation since they stopped conducting draws for outland candidates. 2. Move ASAP to a bigger company with global presence. 3. Have a backup in home country in case nothing works out
Thanks a lot! I’m still confused, is it better if I switch company or stay, since my GC application is in progress and there could still be a chance (even uncertain) that I can get EAD/AP approved mid next year?
