H1b or H4 EAD
Wife is at home at the moment as her name was not picked in the h1b lottery two times even though she has advanced degree . I will be getting my i140 in 6 months. Do you think she should keep trying for h1b or H4 EAD is better? Also, if we get her h4ead and then her name gets picked and approved after h1b lottery , can we choose one of them ? Also, how hard it is to move from h4ead to h1b and vice versa.

First preference should be h1b. Don’t loose hope. For now, get h4ead until she gets her h1. Pretty easy to move from h4 to h1b.

Curious how do you *know* you'll get i140?
Very easy to move from h4ead to h1 if you have a manager willing to wait for full approval. She should definitely keep trying to get her own work authorization in case something happens to yours. Question though, has the same company filed for her both times?
