Did anyone try moving to F1 from H1b. I intend to do so for my full time MBA. Any inputs from folks who’ve done this?
Did you file I 140 ? If you did you might have shown immigration intent which might lead to denial of F1. Talk to a good attorney
Nope! I opted out of I140
I’d rather have I140 than MBA.
What are your plans post MBA? Jobs aren’t easy. If you want to do FT MBA, look at Europe - Insead, LBS, etc
How about the job scene at top 15 US schools?
Top 15 pays off. Happy to chat
Getting a job as an immigrant will also be harder after an MBA. Also check with a lawyer if you’ll have to go through H1B lottery again Having said that, an MBA from a top 3-4 is a lifelong asset. If you don’t plan on staying in the US post MBA then you’ll have options in your home country
With an MBA you will not be eligible STEM OPT. So you’ll have only one chance (maybe 2 if you time it correctly) to apply and secure H1B. It’s something to consider if you plan to stay in US on H1B.
