Casey Newton reporting that "About one-third of Basecamp employees accepted buyouts today after a contentious all-hands meeting." https://twitter.com/CaseyNewton/status/1388212468510380034 This follows DHH's recent blog post where he revealed that they offered every employee 6 months severance. https://world.hey.com/dhh/let-it-all-out-78485e8e Which he had to make after they announced a few "changes" at Basecamp. https://world.hey.com/jason/changes-at-basecamp-7f32afc5 TC: Bad YoE: 5 #basecamp #drama #politics
Politics has no place at the office. The Basecamp leadership has the right long term perspective.
Shit company.
Cope and seethe.
Critiquing situations based on people’s skin colour - is that a sought after quality in Workday? It’s laughable how many comments there are like yours. People happily act in ways against the majority that they would find abhorrent if it were against the minority groups.
Good, now they can hire employees who will do actual work.
Imagine being on the wrong side of history
The right side of history. Brought to you in part by.... Chase Bank, Viacom, Walmart CORP, the CIA, Google, AT&T, VISA, Raytheon.....
Well you work at Facebook so you don't need to imagine.
God I wish more companies were like that. Politics at work needs to end. The country has a mental health crisis masquerading as an interest in politics
Insane how many people cry about not being able to be "political" at work. Like sorry, I'd rather the pilots flying my plane be focused on flying and not whether orange man is bad or not
So 90% of the SJW snowflakes have left the company. They probably see that as a win.
Now if we can only get the trumpist, qanon idiots to leave it will be a win-win
Are they even in the tech industry? I’ve never met one...
Companies brain wash you into spending all day at work, eating there, building friendships and hanging out at whiskey clubs etc. As a result people have some of their best social circles there and it's not well received when a part of that is taken away.
