I have nothing against folks on H4 EAD but lately I am seeing companies like Infosys, TCL, Cognizant who have contracted with Google, Apple and many big techs are favoring people on H4 EAD instead of eligible US citizens. This is a clear discrimination against equal employment opportunities in the US. I lately came across a woman on H4 EAD working at $65k salary in the Bay Area for Apple through Infosys by faking 11 years of total work experience while eligible US citizens were neglected from applying for this job as this job was never posted on Infosys website or any other career site. This is getting absolutely disgusting.
report to uscis. its cases like these which keeps the actual talent of h4ead at bay.
Just saying - H4 isn't a talent based visa. Not defending them though
I agree , people should report this. The more reporting the more pressure it puts on uscis. Also put pressure on your representative in congress. This has to stop
Apple is run by US citizens, they screwed up by not vetting their contractors. So essentially, US citizens abusing the visa system, screwing other US citizens. Aren't you going to take that up?
So you are telling me Apple willingly hired someone in the Bay area for $65k? Seems like Apple and other big tech are the ones abusing the system.
Nope they pay the standard money to consultancies but these consultancies pay very less to the candidates.. If apple is paying 140k/year then consultancies will only pay 65k and rest in their pocket.
That definitely is not good. Apple needs to do something about it then.
You can report this to USCIS with whatever evidence you have. https://www.uscis.gov/report-fraud/uscis-tip-form I did this successfully few years ago.
what was the outcome of your reporting?
Every extension applied that year by the company went to RFE and the people whom i had reported got rejections.
I take it you have no problem then with importing cheap African labor into India, yes? Why does India get to have such rapid economic growth and not all the other hardworking third world countries? My god the level of entitlement, "we deserve those jobs"
Before talking about importing cheap African labour into India, do you even know how much daily labourers get paid in India? How much cheaper do you want it to get? For free? "We deserve the jobs" is an overstatement, more like "good contenders". And that "why does India get to have such rapid economic growth and not all the other hardworking third world countries?" A major reason of the growth is because of the population itself. People moving into the 21st century is creating greater demands and that fuels the Indian economy. The major growth nowadays is in the finance industry. Anyway, what I actually wanted to say was "STFU DUDE!"
Don’t worry, H4 EADs land straight in Bay Area and take up recruiting and headhunting roles. Poor citizens working in these roles are axed to pay these spouses half the salary
Google does this too: for grunt work tasks at GCP, they’ve contracted Accenture to hire talent and complete the tasks. In this case, Accenture is possibly at fault, not the primary company. - Raise it with the vendor - Report the entire thing to USCIS, they’ll investigate if the job roles weren’t advertised. (My 2c, these are the roles no one wants to do, and has a high rate of attrition, where citizens have no interest to take low paying, repetitive tasks)
Which citizen with the sane mind is going to work for 65K in tech?? Bagging groceries gets them 40K. Looks like the blame is on the govt rules and the greedy capitalists
That sucks
Also I believe Infosys and these other consultancies charge the same 100+ per hour and gives only 30-40 per hour, rest in their pocket.
That's the whole model of making money by consultancies
