I know I will be called rude or whatever but h4 ead was always going to be a contentious issue. Absolutely no prerequisites for getting an EAD card - no check of degrees, no experience. No labor certification, no petitioning. Only thing you need is to arrive in H4 and you get an EAD that will let you work anywhere. It’s a too good to be true scenario... which would not have lasted long
Can you explain why skills need to vetted for h4? Should all spouses of h1 need to be of high skill or should stay at home ? What about l1? Should they also be vetted? Here comes my more important question, why do these skill vetting matter? There should be some reason. What would that be?
I’m just saying what I think is true to my most realistic self... if anything, I went in and gave my signature in that petition!
I oppose it
Op Let's talk about what happens after the petition reaches 100k. What are you expecting to happen?
I am not discouraging anyone. But usually petitions don’t help much. If you are interested in fighting for H4EAD, you should join the volunteer organizations and volunteer your time for it (if interested).
Not interested
Country does not value the hard working immigrants. American family the first, immigrant’s family the least. New America spirit. Take it or leave.
Given that the petition was started 2.5 weeks ago and only has 51000 signatures, there is a bleak chance of it reaching 100k signatures. This should tell you that many people don't care if it goes away and the talented and qualified people found a company to sponsor a separate visa for them. If you are the 'leftover' kind then maybe you don't deserve this work authorization.
That's rude and judgemental
It's the reality and the ugly truth. Maybe you can use Blind's search feature and check how many times this petition was posted on Blind. Given the tech influence on Blind, I expected it to reach 100k within 1 week. It didn't and that says something.
