USCIS filed an update saying their plan to strip h4 EAD hasn't changed and are undergoing final approvals.

A lot of immigrants in the Bay Area bought homes when their spouses started earning. With h4 EAD going away, a market crash and recession is imminent.

  • The racist Green card policy discriminates against Indian legal immigrants making them wait for 12+ years for their green card as against 2 odd years for the rest. The fact that we are legal immigrants who compete for the top jobs in this country makes us a threat to the nationalist right and persona non grata to the left. And the logical demand of "don't discriminate on passport" is met with blanket "if you don't like it then leave" statements. The average indian immigrant deals with a lot more bureaucratic battles, shows up to work and cares for their family. I am however always grateful and indebted to the opportunities provided here, though I live in the constant fear that my spouse cannot pursue their career here. Every news item triggers an existential crisis.

  • @Gunda sounds like you bought something you couldn’t really afford after your wife got EAD.

Doesn’t mean everyone did the same.

  • Hahahah,
    1) there are too many Indians applying for green card. If the number was less, they wouldn't have needed to wait so long.
2)if we start treating indian gc cases the same as European, whole of India will come over here in a decade with all the chain migration and h4 bs. Thanks but no thanks.
    3) you guys are hostile to other races. I know how you look down on the Muslims, asian looking people, low caste people in your country. Yet, you want to be accepted by other people?
    4) you are guests. You can not claim anything. You have no right to demand anything. Grow a pair and start behaving like adults.
    5) honestly, you guys are bad at living harmoniously with other cultures. Look what's happening in your country with the beef ban, people asking to not sacrifice goats on Eid and stuff, religion politics. If enough of you come here, pretty sure you would end up doing the same here
    6) if you are not happy, just leave. There are 10,000 other indians waiting to replace you.

I have no grudge against anyone ; just don't be pricks and be demanding crybabies wanting to go against the sentiment of the residents
    of this country :-).

Respect the law, respect the process and get in line like everyone else. That's it.

  • This post makes no logical sense.

You need to provide some background into number of folks with H4-EADs in the Bay Area, who have bought unaffordable ( on a single income) houses. Tie this into the looming Uber and possible Airbnb IPOs and you have a pool of folks who can afford a house, around the same time the H4 EAD will be canceled.

The interest rate and China money inflow, is what you need to watch out for. The rest is noise.

It's a chain reaction. Even 1000 families struggling to pay mortgage would end in foreclosures driving Wall Street fears and in panic people start selling which leads to lower tc for Bay Area since it's all stock inflated. This happens with more. Fears of people coming to life. Sellers start panicking and listing for lower prices. Buyer is fearful and not buying leading to further lowering of prices. Don't forget, after this bull run in the market, everyone, even you, know a recession is coming, we just don't know when. All it takes is someone to tip it over.
