H4 & H4 EAD timeline

Hi Blind community, What's the current wait times to get an H4 visa appointment? Do I need to be in the USA to apply for an EAD card or can my spouse apply from the USA as well? Also, once you apply for H4 EAD how much time does it take?

You need to be in the USA while preparing and applying. You can leave the USA when you received the receive notice. Timeline about 2 to 6 months. Mostly 3 months.

Thanks. Can we go back to India after applying or do I need to be in USA for the entirety of the process?

After you received the receive notice (2 weeks) you can leave but make sure you have the appointment for H4 visa stamp before you enter the USA.
