Was recently interviewing with them, and looks like for backend they are using mostly JS. Is it true, and there is no plan to switch to Java/Go? Manager told me that they use a little bit of Go, but not really:)
Why are you leaving offerup?
Why would they switch to Java? Node is a way more pleasant language to work with
Something about the way he shifted his eyes made me think that maybe, just maybe, they were actually using a PHP backend, but were too afraid to say it...
Lots of ES5, but not php
Mostly JavaScript. There are some legacy services written in Go and Java, but they are just that. Legacy services that haven’t transitioned to Node yet. Client side code also is mostly JavaScript, even on “native” devices like iOS and Android.
LOL. That explains some things...
