Better than anyone in my team
His goal was to become a manager so that he doesn't have to code.
My manager doesn't even show up to stand-ups or planning meetings. There's no way they're going to sit down and do some actual work.
My manager is a TPM turned SDM. You tell me
Is this common? I do not wanna work for a TPM…
Are you in Amazon? If yes there is an internal tool which will show the managers history. If you see in one of them a flip from pm/tpm to sdm then change teams
Something I have learned as a Manager. The more time I spend coding, the less time I spend developing strategies, my team members, and repeatable processes. I don't code anymore and just spend time building up my team.
Lol
Circle of life … code … promoted so you no longer have to code …
It’s like someone read Peter Principle and thought it’d be a cool experiment
My manager doesn’t have time to code and it would be a waste of their time. If they’re coding then we failed at planning.
I wouldn’t want my manager to code. I’d much rather he spends more time strategizing the work his team will be doing next quarter and think about how he can progress our career. If he is coding, I’m sure he can’t do these other things effectively which is what he gets paid for in the first place.
My manager don’t even lift
You mean lift a finger?
Isn’t it “elevate” a finger here in the US?
