I have 2 offers with basically the same compensation HPE: 52k all cash (local currency) Microsoft: 52k all cash (USD) Offers in USD The Microsoft offer is through Intelliswift, initially a +15 month contract as a Software Engineer 100% remote The HPE offer is as a DevOps Engineer has a few on-site activities but mostly remote and I'm an FTE, I feel more confident about this offer even though it's not the most sexy company but it's more secure. What would you choose? Do you think it would be possible to accept both jobs and see how it goes as they're mostly remote? Not sure how conflict of interest could be here. TC: 36k YOE: 4 #engineering #software #swe #devops
If you work well at Microsoft, there is also chance to conversion to FTE if the manager and team supports and vouch for your work.
Actually I don't think so because Microsoft has no offices in my country, that's why it's fully remote and through that middle company
But also keep in mind, Microsoft had two types of contractors Managed and Unmanaged. If you are unmanaged, you must leave Microsoft for 6 months after 18 months(not sure of this number) or something like that unless you get converted to FTE
Good to know
Can you say more about what area of HPE you'd be working in? Also, what country is this in?
HPE is from the past honestly, go for MS on your resume it will open more door in 1 year
They just delivered the first exascale supercomputer in the world. There is some exciting work going on at HPE but it really depends on what area you are in.
Outside the Slingshot interconnect they just connected the cables...
Financial results 2022 HPE +3% MS +30% So in future where would you like to work OP? 🫡
But both compensations are cash, stock is not that big of a factor unless there are massive layoffs

The end of Backdoor Roth?!
Get Microsoft on your resume then get a new job with bigger TC
I mean yeah, but I my skills would be still as good, I'm already getting a 40% increment after 6 months at VMWare and got a 40% from my previous job to VMW after 9 months. I'm pretty good at interviewing (Amazon is the only FAANG company in my country so a lot of "top" tech companies are 2-3 tier) I don't think just the name would get me more TC or it does?
Where are you located now?
