So the announcement is just waiting till after the elections then? I think DC is an interesting choice. Now I wonder about the teams/products that will move?
Some HR, recruiting, finance, government projects (JEDI project for example), product support engineers, some parts of cloud support engineers and solution architects.
You can pay them 10% less than Seattle but their dollar goes a lot way in Virginia turning the misery of living in Seattle into happiness.
Any doubt that it wouldn’t be near suckling distance to the government teat?
Why would they move from one expensive , bad traffic area to other ? Isn’t the dc area infamous for its traffic ?
DC traffic is times worse than Seattle. Toll roads everywhere. Not mentioning there’s nothing to do beyond the city: no mountains or ocean nearby. Stupidest decision, if they make it. Amazon should have started HQ2 in Bellevue.
Traffic will be irrelevant in 5 years when AEVs are commonplace. Til then there is the metro
