Spouse and I are each seeing a therapist and couples counseling, those basically eat away at our out-of-pocket so it allows us to be reimbursed. However, its maybe a bit better than just going with a high-deductible plan and just paying all the therapists without reimbursement. My spouse really doesn't like that idea, she doesn't get the HSA route and doesn't see saving "for the future" as good as living to today. In any case, I consider it a tax to not have to deal with her nagging me throughout the year with "I told you so". Thoughts?
HSA is a giant tax shelter. You can contribute pre tax money which grows tax free and can be withdrawn tax free if paying for medical care. Best strategy is to avoid withdrawals until you are in retirement. It’s also helpful to keep track of medical expenses you pay out of pocket, so that you can withdraw them later (in several years) tax free.
HSA can save now too
I thought I’ve seen the worst of blind but this comment just blows me away
