Recruiter reached out about a position but I have heard whisperings that it’s not a good environment for woman in particular. Heard that the women on the PM team don’t get heard or that they don’t always hire women. Is it the same in the engineering dept? Or is all this just rumors?
Maybe it depends on the particular team? I’ve been on teams where the entire product/design side were women and they were absolutely the leaders. Not sure about the eng side? The culture as a whole also depends on your team. My immediate team members are amazing but middle management can be a little dicey
Not the best, not the worst.
This has historically been an issue across most functions at GDRX. I’m not an engineer but I know my engineering counterparts have complained that we don’t do enough to seek out women candidates. FWIW I’m glad that recruiting is doing more outbounds to female engineers. Product and (to a lesser extent) design have definitely raised issues in the past regarding implicit bias against women. I personally don’t think it’s systemic as I have seen plenty of female PMs and designers rise quickly through the ranks.
