Been looking to switch to CS and I figured I should finally pull the trigger. Have a EE BS from T20 school, 3.7 gpa, 1 year out of school. Is it worth it to get a MS? Should I do a bootcamp? Should I just buy some algorithm/data structure books and leetcode full-time?
MS or Self Study
It is honestly not that hard to transition into software, especially from EE and only a year out of school. Most software companies look at your degree and assume you did tons of coding. The only thing left is to study data structures/ algorithms.
Have you taken algorithm and Data structure course? If not, I would recommend take a Coursera course and supplement it with sedgewick/Cormen. Once you have basics strong (or if you are already there), leetcode the shit out for next couple of months. Then start interviewing. With just one year out of school, you can go anywhere. Don't wait for too long. I waited for too long to do a similar switch.
