Random white guy story here. My first year at a big company in the Bay area I was invited to a company "Holiday" Party the week of Thanksgiving. Assumed it was for Thanksgiving and walked into a room of about 200 Indians. Had no idea what Diwali was until then.
And what happened ?
There was a fashion show, I ate Indian food. You may have been there.
I miss home on Diwali ! I want to go back home ! Sitting alone here while all my friends are busy celebrating with their families. 😢
