A junior who recently joined from a defense background was accusing me of personally targeting him when i asked him to improve his work and behaviour with other team members. He is not my direct report. Later his manager came up to me and told that he was considering filing a harassment claim on me. I looked over the entire stream of events and realised that i was not in the wrong. I saw this as a mechanism by the defense guy to bully me into not asking him questions in matters for which I'm directly answerable. So I called up the ethics line and complained. Should I follow through on this with a written complaint as well? My manager knows, he told me, either to make peace or gear up for a formal investigation. Should i be the bigger guy and let the other person go?
Document all the conversations you have with him.. I would suggest if there is a dependancy, write emails to him so it is entirely structured.. in case it comes to investigation, you will have all the possible evidences and everything will be transparent..

The end of Backdoor Roth?!
Even if you let it go question remain whether other person is also ready to let it go ? I would suggest have a conversation and clear your part that you were asking questions due to dependency blah blah etc. But be ready with all proof nd answer if he comes after you but it is always better if you two can sort out difference among yourself.
