How does Apple afford to pay its employees so much more even though it's in hardware company whereas companies like Intel, Applied Materials Lam Research and AMD do not?
Apple is a brand. It can sell iphone 13 as 14,15,16,17,18,19,20 with no updates still people will buy them.
No one sells the volume that apple does with the margins that apple does. Moreover, Apple is hardly a hardware company. The revenue from App Store is bigger than the GDP of many countries.
Apple had 25B in earnings last quarter, Intel had 8B, AMD <1B
Intel and others can pay similar to Apple levels... Maybe not matching every Apple offer but pretty close. Stock appreciation is where you probably see the biggest difference in pay.
Define “so much more.” I haven’t seen many strong Apple HW offers posted on blind for a while.
That’s not the only source of income for Apple
What are they?
Over 60% of revenue comes from iPhone sales
