I want to move away from hardware into machine learning SW and need feedback on how to go about it. I have > 10 years of experience in hardware field where I have expertise in performance/architecture. 1. Other than coursera/udaycity/leetcode, what else I should try to get involved into? 2. Are employers willing to hire people with so much HW experience but little machine learning/sw experience? 3. Am I nuts? What else would you recommend me? TC in case it matters: 240K.

NW required for FU money with no kids, house paid off and 100k expenses per year?
I just did this but i have 7 yoe. I started by doing ML focused HW projects at work on my own time, then studied and LC’ed for 6 months. By this time by resume had a lot of ML relevant work and i read many ML textbooks to teach myself. TC increasing by 2x and work hrs being cut from 60h per week to under 40h. Highly recommend this path.
Do you mind sharing names of ML books if it comes to mind?
O’reilly books. Dont have the titles on hand but there r 2 of them there. Plus coursera.
